The Wren Press, as a Royal Warrant holder and manufacturer of bespoke luxury stationery, recognises its responsibility to manage and minimise its environmental impact. Sustainability is a core value that underpins our commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation. We are committed to continually improving our environmental performance, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and operating in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
This policy outlines our sustainability objectives and defines the actions we are taking to reduce our carbon footprint across our operations, supply chain, and product lifecycle. This applies to all business operations, including our offices, manufacturing facilities, logistics, procurement activities, and supply chain relationships.
We aim to achieve/maintain the following:
Goal | Target (By 2026) | Metric |
---|---|---|
Reduce energy consumption | 3% reduction in electricity use | kWh/year (compared to 2025 baseline) |
Lower transport-related emissions | 5% reduction in fleet CO₂ emissions | kg CO₂/year |
Improve waste management | Divert 90% of waste from landfill | % of waste reused/recycled |
Source sustainable materials | 100% FSC-certified paper stock | % of total paper purchased |
Carbon tracking & reporting | Positive Planet | CO₂e/year reported and verified |
To meet these objectives, we will:
- Maintain 100% FSC-certified and/or recycled paper stocks.
- Use only plant-based or low-VOC inks and biodegradable packaging where feasible.
- Engage suppliers on our carbon policies and sustainability credentials.
- Install LED lighting and motion sensors across all facilities.
- Conduct annual energy audits and implement efficiency upgrades.
- Transition to electric or hybrid vehicle by 2026.
- Partner with local recycling providers to ensure 90% landfill diversion.
- Encourage internal reuse of materials and reduce single-use packaging.
- Use Positive Planets methodology to calculate and verify Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions annually.
- Publish a Sustainability Impact Report each year, starting 2025.
